Emily Thuysbaert, is our latest Service Leader.
Emily has been with us for a week or so now, but for those of you who haven’t yet had the chance to meet her, here she is…
And this is a little bit about her….
I am originally from Swindon, Wiltshire where I worked in a dual diagnosis secure unit as a behavioural support worker for the NHS where I obtained my level 3 in health and social care. I moved to Plymouth in 2015 and was support manager for the George House Hostel, I took this time while working within the homeless sector to complete my level 5 in health and social care.
Since leaving there I have been deputy manager for mental health support teams in Devon and have been senior service managers for different providers in the children leaving care sector.
I consider myself to be an empathetic individual and my management style is to always have an open-door policy and I like to create solution focused thinking in any role I have.
I am a creative person and have a BA Hons degree in photojournalism and have used this to create an array of children’s books, becoming a children’s author is 2018. I pair this passion with another passion of mine dyslexia, due to the fact I am dyslexic. I have created an awareness programme to encourage young minds to dream big dreams in schools nationally and internationally.
I am excited to be working with Pioneering Independence to develop new and exciting opportunities for not only our service users but also our staff teams. I look forward to seeing the company grow and the individuals we support flourish.
I look forward to meeting you all soon.
